Website Evaluation

While the Internet might make researching seem simple, you need to think about your sources of information.  Here are a few things you need to consider when evaluating a website before using it in your research. Try to remember the acronym CRAB when doing your research!

    • When was this webpage created or updated?
    • Does it link to other current sites?
    • Are there dead links on the page?
    • Does the information fit your project?
    • Does it link to other useful sites?
    • Can you summarize it in your own words?
    • If not, the site might be too hard!
    • Can you tell who wrote it?
    • Is this site’s information intended to inform?
    • Is it trying to persuade or sell something?
